Here are my swatches for the Joe Fresh Gunmetal. I never knew before that Joe Fresh sold nail polish until I hit up my local Loblaws and was perusing their beauty aisles. Now these polishes are $4 each or at a promotional offer of 3 for $10. I’m used to paying anywhere from $7 to $10 for a bottle of polish and I haven’t purchased any drugstore polishes in awhile so I was slightly hesitant to try these lacquers. However since my debit card has taken quite a beating lately and I was craving some new shades, I succumbed and take advantage of the 3 for $10. The other 2 colors will be reviewed later on in this week.
Gunmetal is a dark brown expresso color with very miniscule silver flakes. The color is actually really pretty. I don’t know how to explain my love for this color =.=.
Formula: The formula of this lacquer sits in between thick and thin. I can easily cover my natural nail color in 2 coats, but the formula is think enough that it can easily be spread around the nail bed. There are no ridges when the lacquer dries and it dries fairly smooth. Overall, I’d give the formula an A+ performance.
Drying: I applied this polish relatively late at night right before I went to take a shower, so I only gave it about 3-5 minutes to dry. After I came out of the shower, I noticed that the polish hadn’t dented and my nails still looked brand new. So I’m pretty happy with how fast the polish FULLY dried.
Durability: I’m constantly in the pool and the chlorine usually causes more wear and tear than my usual everyday activities. This lacquer lasted about 3 days before I started seeing and chipping at the tips of my nails. I had tried this polish already last week before I went to the pool again and it last about a week and a half before and chipping occured. All in all, this lacquer lasts quite a while.
Color: A rich dark brown expresso with silver flakes. Can I ask for more? GORGEOUS.
Extra: The brush tip is wide like China Glaze, which makes application a lot easier. I can spread the lacquer easily across my nailbed. On top of that, the opacity of this lacquer is amazing!
Overall: A++++++++ I seriously recommend anyone living in Canada to pick up a few bottles of the Joe Fresh nail polish. They have excellent application, excellent color opacity and to top it off, they cost almost nothing! At a price of 3 for $10, Your barely paying anything for amazing quality. Could anyone ask for more?
NOTE: This brand is only available in Canada.
